There are many indulgences I enjoy in life (beer!), and I just added a new one to the list: a good swim in a swimming hole.
The Farm, the community I’m staying at in Tennessee, just happens to have one of the nicest swimming holes in the region. And even though I mention the swimming hole first because I’m excited about it, this place has much much more to offer than that. This is one of the original communes, started back in the 60’s with several school buses full of hippies. The school buses are still here today, but they’re just kind of rotting out in the woods and acting as giant trailblazes. The Farm is located on a huge plot of land and they’ve got several businesses that run out of here, including a soy dairy that makes really yummy tofu. I was tempted to stay at the Farm for an extended period of time, and not just for the plentiful beds and showers (not something that I’ve become accustomed to on the road). However I had a Dylan-esque moment in which I had to tell The Farm “I love you baby, but I’ve got to be movin’ on…”
